Singleton Birch Ltd Recognised for Outstanding Excellence in Health and Safety

At the Mineral Products Association Annual Health and Safety awards, held on 13th November 2012 at BAFTA in London, Singleton Birch Ltd collected the major award of the event – the John Crabbe Memorial Trophy, for “Outstanding Excellence in Health and Safety”. The Mineral Products Association is the trade association for the aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, dimension stone, lime, mortar and silica sand industries. It has 465 members made up of the vast majority of independent SME companies throughout the UK as well as the 9 major international and global companies.

In 2009 and 2011 the company had received the Sir Frank Davies Trophy awarded to the best performing company with less than 1000 employees. This year we went one better and received the top award open to all member companies. The award was independently judged by a Board Member of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) who was also a guest speaker on the day. This is a fitting recognition for the hard work and commitment of the whole workforce of driving towards an environment of zero harm in the workplace.
