Alexa Embleton, Jo Twort and Chris Meyer recently attended the Women in Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) event in the Hull Guildhall. With 15% of the jobs in our region in industrial manufacturing, this aims to encourage girls and women into our type of industry. Over 300 girls were seen on the day with ages ranging from Yr 8 to Yr 12, as well as a couple of Undergraduates. We offered advice on the range of jobs at Singleton Birch, career pathways, interview technique and CV’s. All attending seemed to get a lot out of this worthwhile event.
